Baseball Splits with Worcester in Regular Season Finale
WORCESTER, MA -- Buc Ball traveled to Worcester on Saturday for their final two games of the regular season and of conference play. With a Saturday sweep of the Lancers, the Bucs would lock up the two seed in next week's MASCAC playoffs. Instead, the Bucs won game one, 4-3, in eight innings, and lost the second game, 5-4, on a Worcester walkoff in the bottom of the seventh after leading 4-0.

- Brett Velzis ended his skid at the plate with four hits in the game and two runs scored to lead the Bucs.
- Zach Sylvia, Alex Schlapak, Aidan Henderson, and Tucker Leslie each had a hit.

How It Happened
Maritime scored first in the top of the second on a Tropea ground out that scored Velzis to give the Bucs a 1-0 lead.
In the bottom of the third, Worcester scored all three of their runs. Two came on a Buccaneer miscue, scoring Ausiello and Wright. The other run scored on a Chaves Jr. single bringing DiBattista around to score.
Down two runs, the Bucs scored a run in the fifth on a Sylvia sacrifice fly to get back within one run.
In the top of the sixth, Tropea grounded out to first and Velsiz scored from third. With the score tied after the regularly scheduled seven innings, the teams went to extras.
In the top of the eighth, the Bucs broke the 3-3 tie on a bases-loaded walk of Perito that scored Evan Vieira.
With the exception of a Buccaneer miscue, Baiardi set down the Lancers with two strikeout and a pop out to second to secure the Bucs 4-3 victory.
The win for Parks marked the first of his career with the save marking Baiardi's sixth of the season.

How It Happened
The Buccaneers controlled the game through 6.5 innings. They scored three runs in the second on a Tropea single and a two-RBI double for Sylvia.
In the top of the fifth, Maritime extended their lead to four runs on a Tropea sacrifice fly that brought in Velzis.
In the bottom of the seventh, the home team took control and scored five runs to walk off with the win and keep the Bucs from winning the series and securing the two seed in the conference playoffs.
What's Next
Maritime will travel to Westfield on Thursday for their first playoff game against the sixth seeded Framingham State in a single elimination game at 11am. The winner of the game will go on to face Westfield State at 3pm in the first game of the double elimination portion of the MASCAC Playoffs.
