WHAT TO KNOW
• Maritime returns 21 players from the 2021 season, including senior captain Frank AtenZach SylviaBrett VelzisBrady Parks, A.J. Luciano and Michael Doyle
• The Bucs posted a 3-8 record last season in an abreviated, non-conference season.
• Coach Kelley's staff welcomes a class of 13 incoming freshman in 2022.

Players To Watch

  • Senior Captain Frank Aten batted .308 in his junior season with a .357 on-base percentage and posted a 1.000 fielding percentage behind the plate.
  • As a freshman, infielder Brett Velzis hit .250 with two doubles, two triples and two home runs with a team-high 10 RBI.
  • Infielder Zach Sylvia returns of a four double season from last year. Playing at shortstop, Sylvia posted a .931 fielding percentage with two errors in 29 total chances in the field.
  • Brady Parks tallied a 9.17 K/9 average with nine strikeouts in 6.2 innings in 2021. 

STORYLINES

  • The Bucs added six young pitchers to their staff for the season after graduating their top two pitchers from the last few years, John Teehan and Mason Ashburn. 
  • The Starting lineup will look similar to 2021 with six starters returning to the lineup.
  • The Buccaneers will play their first MASCAC contest since the 2019 season on April first when they open conference play with Framingham State.
  • The Bucs have 39 games on their schedule for 2022 with three games in Florida against Palm Beach State College and Ave Maria. 
  • Maritime will play against some unfamiliar teams this season as they have added COlby-Sawyer and NVU-Lyndon to their schedule.
