How It Happened
Boyle put the Rams on the board in the top of the first with his solo home run to right center field. Rams starter Scott Nosky proceeded to keep the Bucs off the board in the first.
In the bottom of the second, Maritime tied the game at 1-1 when the Rams failed to turn a double play, allowing AJ Luciano to score on an error.
Framingham took the lead back in the top of the third on a Moniz double, his first hit of the season, and a Boyle single to score Moniz. The Rams led 4-1 after two and a half innings and held that lead through the middle innings.
In the bottom of the sixth, with the weather deteriorating, the Bucs scored a run on a double steal. Aidan Henderson came across before Tucker Leslie was tagged between first and second and the Bucs pulled within two runs.
Maritime scored three more in the bottom of the seventh to tie the game and take the lead. Pietrafesa tied the game on a single up the middle that scored Schlapak and Perito. Then, Frank Aten singled to the shortstop allowing Piertrafesa to score on a throwing error by the shortstop. The Bucs had a 5-4 lead after seven innings.
The top of the eighth saw the Rams take the lead once again, this time for good. Boyle tripled to score Iannetta. Later, Boyle scored on a Kennedy Wilson single to take a 6-5 lead.
The Bucs were unable to get a run across in the eighth or ninth, though they threatened in both innings. The Rams won the MASCAC opener and first game of three with the Bucs, 6-5.
