How It Happened

Maritime scored first in the top of the first on a Velzis double that plated Schlapak. In the bottom of the first, Curry tied the game at 1-1 on a solo home run by Hanlon to right center.

In the second, Curry took the lead on Peralta's homer to left and added two more runs on a Goonan single.

With the score 4-1 in the fourth, Curry added another run to make it 5-1. In the fifth they opened their advantage to eight runs as they scored four more runs. They would add an insurance run in the sixth to make it 11-1.

In the seventh, the Buccaneer bats came alive. Velzis drove in Max Hefner to make it 11-2 and Rogers fouled out to right field giving Sylvia enough time to score from third. That would be all the Bucs could get as they lost to the Colonels 11-3.
