Velzis Named MSCAC Player of the Week
WESTFIELD, Mass -- Monday afternoon, the MASCAC announced their weekly baseball awards and Bucs third baseman Brett Velzis has been named Conference Player of the Week!
Brett batted .615 (8-13) with a double, triple, and home run, drove in three runs, scored five times, and walked four times with a .722 on-base percentage and a 1.077 slugging percentage in a 2-2 week for the Buccaneers. He went 3-for-4 with a double and RBI in the 2-1 setback to Coast Guard. Brett was 3-for-5 with a stolen base and run scored in the 9-5 win over Clark and 1-for-2 with three runs, home run, RBI and two walks in the 15-7 win over Northern Vermont-Lyndon.
The Buccaneers are on the road for their next game on Tuesday against Dean College in Franklin, MA.
