BucBall Chosen 3rd in MASCAC Preseason Poll
WESTFIELD, Mass -- Thursday afternoon, the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference released their 2023 Baseball Preseason Poll and the Buccaneers have been voted to finish third this season by the eight conference coaches.
In 2022, the Bucs had one of their best seasons in program history with a 25-17 record, 14-7 in conference play, finishing third in the conference behind Bridgewater and Westfield. Their season took them to the MASCAC Championship Round against Bridgewater State after knocking out Framingham, Westfield and Salem.
At season's end, the Buccaneers received six All-Conference nods including four first teamers. Also, for the first time in progra history, the team's ace, Brodey Tinkham, claimed the MASCAC Pitcher of the Year Award.
With a handful of returners, including seven starters and nearly the entire pitching staff back, Head Coach Mike Kelley and his team are geared up for the 2023 season.
