Patane and Donlan Earn All-MASCAC Spots

WESTFIELD, Mass -- Wednesday afternoon, the MASCAC released their 2023 softball All-Conference teams and they include two Buccaneers. Freshman third baseman Ab'c'de Patane earned a spot on the First Team and Freshman Erin Donlan earned a spot on the All-MASCAC second team in the utility spot.

Ab'c'de finished third in all of collegiate softball at all levels in batting average with a .531 average. She was eighth in the nation in on-base percentage at .566, fourth in the nation in slugging percentage at .920 and was first in the MASCAC in 10 different offensive categories. In her freshman season she broke the single-season and program record for home runs with seven and is the first player in program history to win the conference Player and Rookie of the Year.

Donlan did it all for the Buccaneers this season playing in five different positions including in the circle. At the plate, she batted .363 with a .430 on-base percentage driving in 32 runs, scoring 26 times and racked up 41 hits. She hit 1 doubles, three triples and two home runs on the season, walked 13 times and struck out just 12 times in 113 at-bats. In the circle, she finished the season 5-4 with a 5.73 earned run average and 28 strikeout.
