WORCESTER, Mass -- The Buccaneers closed out their regular season on Saturday with a conference doubleheader against Worcester State. Against the team that the Bucs now know they will face on Wednesday in the first round of the MASCAC Playoffs, the Bucs dropped both games, 7-1 and 8-0.

• Hannah Burton, Ab'c'de Patane, Erin Donlan, and Jennamarie Klemp had the four hits for the Bucs.
• Patane hit her seventh home run of the season driving in the only run of the game in the loss.

Worcester

• Jacqui Schwalm, Emma Lampher, Abigail Koziol, and Bella Gasbarro all had two hits for the Lancers.
• Amanda Admuska, Morgan Keefe, and Bailey Tammaro all had one hit each in the win.
• Lanpher, Gasbarro and Tammaro all had doubles in the game.
• Schwalm, Lanpher, and Gasbarro each drove in two runs. Koziol plated one.
• Adamuska, Lanpher, and Tamarro scored twice, Schwalm scored once.
• Ava Bogosian was credited with a stolen base.

How It Happened

The Lancers scored first in the bottom of the second inning bringing four across to take a 4-0 lead after two.

In the bottom of the fourth, Worcester added three more including two on a Gasbarro double. 

After a scoreless fifth, the Bucs got a run on Patane's home run but couldn't close the gap any more losing game one, 7-1.

• Ab'c'de Patane recorded the only two hits one the game for the Buccaneers including a double.
• Abby Pope stole a base in the game.

Worcester

• Bella Gasbarro and Jayden Kelly each had two hits for the Lancers
• Amanda Adamuska, Jacqui Schwalm, Emma Lanpher, Emma Lapoint, Naraylee Baez, and Bailey Tamarro all had one hit.
• Adamuska, Kelly, and Tamarro all drove in two runs. Schwalm, and Gasbarro each brought in one run.
• Lapoint scored twice, six other Lancers scored once. 

How It Happened

Worcester opened the scoring in the bottom of the second bringing in five runs to take a 5-0 lead.

In the third, the Lancers scored one more on an Adamuska single to make the score 6-0.

In the bottom of the fourth, Kelly singled to bring in two runs to take an 8-0 lead.

The Bucs couldn't plate any runs and lost on run rule after five innings, 8-0, in game two.

What's Next

The Buccaneers make their first ever playoff appearance in the ASCAC Tournament on Wednesday afternoon when they travel back to Worcester to take on the Lancers once again. Game time is TBA.
