Patane Named MASCAC Softball Player and Rookie of the Year

WESTFIELD, Mass -- On Wednesday afternoon, the MASCAC announced their post season awards and All-Conference teams. Buccaneers freshman third baseman Ab'c'de Patane was named Conference Player and Rookie of the Year for her performance on the diamond in 2023.

Patanes's first year in a Buccaneers uniform was nothing but impressive and record breaking. She finished the year with a .531 batting average, third best in the country across all three NCAA divisions, was fourth in the country in slugging percentage at .920 and eighth in the nation in on-base percentage at .566.

In the MASCAC she was first in 10 different offensive categories including batting average, doubles, OBP and RBI. Her seven home runs was second best in the conference and is a Massachusetts Maritime Softball single-season and career high.
