NEWPORT, R.I. -- The Bucs dinghy sailing team took part in the Aylmers Trophy hosted by Salve Regina on Sunday, April 9th in Rhode Island. In a field of seven teams the Buccaneers finished fourth.

It was a beautiful day for racing at Salve Regina on Easter Sunday with a light wind that maintained speeds of 3-10 knots. Salve Regina came away with the victory in the event with a total of 52 points.

Maritime finished with 112 points with four top five finishes in the 14 races with one top finish. The Buccaneers finished behind Northeastern University with 76 points and were 17 points ahead of the fifth placed finishes UNH. 

Olin College of Engineering finished in the two spots behind Salve and ahead of Northeastern. Rounding out the field was Williams College in sixth and Middlebury in seventh.
