PLYMOUTH, Mass -- This past weekend, the Bucs Dinghy team hosted the Central Series One regatta on Great Herring Pond in Plymouth. In a field of 11 teams, the Buccaneers finished second in their first regatta of the spring season.

It was a sunny day in the mid-30's on the pond with west winds between 15-20 knots gusting to 25. There were a few collisons on the wter and it was decided that the day would end early after two sets, eight races, sailed.

Boston University took first place in the regatta with 22 total points. They finished first in one of eight races and top three in six races on the day. Maritime's 25 points came with a win, foursecond place finishes and a third place finish. Their fifth and eighth place finishes set them back and locked them in to the two spot. URI finished third with 22 points. The Rams had a tough run in the first four races with just six points and with a few wins in the second round of races, they picked up 22 to take third.

Maritime will host the Central Series Two on Herring Pond on Sunday, March 26th.
