Sailing Finishes Third and Sixth at Central Series Two

PLYMOUTH, Mass -- After finishing second at the Central Series One regatta on Great Herring Pond last weekend, the Bucs hosted the Central Series Two on the pond this week and finished third and sixth in a field of 16 boats.

URI won the event on Sunday with a total of 33 points on a beautiful day at Herring Pond with west winds ranging from 7-15 knots. In total there were 10 races, five in each division.

The Buccaneers came in third and sixth with a total of 39 and 60 points by the respective boats. They were one point out of second behind Fairfield with 38 points and were six points out for fifth place held by Salve Regina with 54 points. Maritime finished 10 points ahead of UNH in fourth place with 49 points and were nine points ahead of Boston University, who won the Central Series One last week, with 69 points. 

Maritime will split duties next week with the BU Trophy at Boston University, they will host the Central Series Three at Great Herring Pond, and send a team to the Saturday Invite at Salve Regina.
