Sailing: Buccaneers Finish 10th at NEISA Symposium

MILTON, Mass -- On Saturday, the Buccaneer sailing team competed in the NEISA Fundamental Symposium. In a tough field of boats, the Bucs racked up 65 points to claim a 10th place finish out of a 15-boat field.

This was the first time the NEISA ran their Fundamental Symposium and it was a successful first go for the event. The racing was tough as the winds were low and eventually non existent. The symposium included procedural rules, responsibilities to one's teammate, basics for starting races and more.

Hosted by Tufts University, Boston University finished first with 14 points. The Tufts boats came in second and third on the day with their third boat finishing sixth. TheBuccaneers finished 10th, four points behind UNH and three points ahead of the 11th place finishers, Salve Regina. The Bucs also beat out the likes of Wesleyan, UConn, Bates and UMass Dartmouth.
