Sailing: Dinghy Finishes Seventh at Dark of Night

MEDFORD, Mass -- The Buccaneers sailing team competed in one of the most unique races on their schedule on Thursday evening at Tufts University. The Dark of Night event is the only after dark regatta on the Buccaneers schedule and they participate in the event each fall. With two boats in the event, in a field of 17 boats, the Bucs picked up seventh and 10th place finishes. 

The hosts finished first, second and third on the night with 24, 25, and 25 points respectively. Northeastern and another Tufts boat rounded out the top five. The Buccaneers first boat finished seventh with 46 points, one point behind Amherst in sixth and four points ahead of Ilin College of Engineering in eighth with 50 points.

The second Buc boat finished 10th with 59 points, eight points behind Brown in ninth and three points ahead of UMass Amherst in 11th. 

The Buccaneers will compete in the Schell trophy this weekend at Coast Guard.
