Sailing: Bucs Hold off UMass Amherst in Smith Trophy
CAMBRIDGE, Mass -- MIT was the site of the George Warren Smith Trophy this weekend for the Buccaneers sailing team and 19 other teams. Brown University won the regatta with a total of 91 points.
The Buccaneers, competing in a light ENE breeze at 3-5 knots, races in an inner and outer set of trapezoid courses. In 16 events, the Bucs tallied 248 points for a 19th place finish, holding off UMass Amherst who finished in 20th with 309 points.
