NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. --  Sophomore Nicole Silverman (Chelmsford, Mass.) registered 15 kills and nine digs to lead UMass Dartmouth to a 3-0 non-league college volleyball victory over Massachusetts Maritime by game scores of 25-17, 25-19 and 25-11 in a match played Thursday evening at the Tripp Center.

 

Junior Amanda LaCroix (East Freetown, Mass.) added 13 kills, seven digs and a pair of service aces in the triumph for the host Corsairs (8-7), who received 37 set assists and five digs from freshman Riley Thomas (Fairhaven, Mass.) along with 10 digs from sophomore Meghan Mullinax (Lake Balboa, Calif.).

 

Sophomore Marie Harrison (Weymouth, Mass.) notched four kills, seven digs, two service aces and a pair of block assists in the setback for the visiting Buccaneers (2-15), who received three kills and seven digs from freshman Kaylee Tolman (East Sandwich, Mass.).  Freshman Maddie Coughlin (Monroe, Conn.) chipped in with three kills and two block assists for Massachusetts Maritime, which received 15 digs from sophomore Tina Ruggeri (Bourne, Mass.).  Sophomore Michelle Sheehan (Attleboro, Mass.) collected 10 set assists, two kills and a pair of digs for the Buccaneers, who received a combined 10 digs from senior Kaleigh Hoffman (Noblesville, Ind.), sophomore Meghan Sullivan (Hanover, Mass.) and freshman Casey Sullivan (Sagamore Beach, Mass.).

 

Massachusetts Maritime heads into Boston on Saturday afternoon for a non-league tri-match with Rhode Island College and host Wentworth beginning at 1:00 p.m., while UMass Dartmouth travels to Waltham, Mass. on Saturday morning for a non-league tri-match with Gordon and host Brandeis that begins at 10:00 a.m.
