BOSTON, Mass. --  Junior Abigail Ahern (Barrington, N.H.) posted a double-double effort of 13 digs, 10 kills and three service aces to lead Wentworth to 3-0 non-league college volleyball victory over Massachusetts Maritime in the final outing of a tri-match played Saturday afternoon at Tansey Gymnasium.  The host Leopards began the day with a 3-1 triumph over Rhode Island College, who then notched a 3-0 win over the Buccaneers in the middle contest.

Freshman Makenna Salisbury (Bel Air, Md.) added nine kills in Wentworth’s (19-2) 25-6, 25-11, 25-9 nightcap victory, as the Leopards also received a combined 33 set assists and seven digs from sophomore Maddy Tomastik (Portland, Ore.) and freshman Kayla Chen (Irvine, Calif.) as well as 25 digs from junior Lillie Clark (Vista, Calif.).

Sophomore Marie Harrison (Weymouth, Mass.) collected 12 digs and three kills in the nightcap setback for Massachusetts Maritime (2-17), which received a pair of kills and six digs from freshman Kaylee Tolman (East Sandwich, Mass.).  Sophomore Michelle Sheehan (Attleboro, Mass.) added six digs, four set assists and a pair of kills for the Buccaneers, who received seven digs from freshman Maddie Coughlin (Monroe, Conn.) and six digs from sophomore Tina Ruggeri (Bourne, Mass.).

Senior Courtney Lambrese (Cranston, R.I.) notched 10 kills in Rhode Island College’s (10-9) 25-16, 25-15, 25-14 middle match victory over Massachusetts Maritime, while junior Jillian Ward (Coventry, R.I.) added eight kills, five digs and three service aces for the Anchorwomen.  Senior Abigayl White (Coventry, R.I.) collected 14 set assists for RIC, which received 12 set assists and seven digs from sophomore Jacqueline Jutras (Foster, R.I.).

Harrison recorded nine kills and 10 digs in the first setback for the Buccaneers, who received five kills and four digs from Tolman.  Sheehan notched 17 set assists and a pair of digs for Massachusetts Maritime, which received a combined 14 digs from Ruggeri, senior Kaleigh Hoffman (Noblesville, Ind.) and freshman Casey Sullivan (Sagamore Beach, Mass.).

Massachusetts Maritime travels to Fitchburg, Mass. on Tuesday evening to take on Fitchburg State in a Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference match that begins at 7:00 p.m., while Rhode Island College hosts Western Connecticut in a Little East Conference clash on Tuesday evening in Providence, R.I. beginning at 6:00 p.m.  Wentworth entertains Gordon in a Commowealth Coast Conference contest on Tuesday evening at Tansey Gymnasium that begins at 7:00 p.m.
