MILTON, Mass. --  Junior Grace Stafford (West Yarmouth, Mass.) notched nine kills and six digs to lead host Curry to a 3-0 victory over Massachusetts Maritime in the opener of a non-league college volleyball tri-match played Saturday afternoon at Katz Gymnasium.  The Buccaneers dropped a 3-0 decision in the middle match to Becker, which was then swept by the Colonels in the nightcap.

 

Sophomore Caroline Kilduff (Rockland, Mass.) added six kills in the opening 25-13, 25-16, 25-12 triumph for Curry (4-2), which also received five kills from senior Nicole Rice (Woburn, Mass.).  Sophomore Monica Wilkes (Franklin Lakes, N.J.) chipped in with 20 set assists for the Colonels, who received nine digs and four service aces from senior Courtney Carroll (Fairhaven, Mass.) along with eight digs from freshman Jordyn Keith (Whitman, Mass.).

 

Sophomore Marie Harrison (Weymouth, Mass.) recorded five kills, three digs and a pair of service aces in the opening setback for Massachusetts Maritime (1-4), which received two kills and six digs from junior Jennifer Roy (Attleboro, Mass.).  Freshman Maddie Coughlin (Monroe, Conn.) added a pair of kills as well for the Buccaneers, who received nine set assists and five digs from sophomore Michelle Sheehan (Attleboro, Mass.).

 

Becker (2-4) received five kills and three service aces from junior Kayla Dupree (North Bergen, N.J.) in posting a 25-16, 25-8, 25-15 win over Massachusetts Maritime in the middle contest, while sophomore Sofia Cullina (Deep River, Conn.) added four kills and four digs from the Hawks, who also received 13 set assists and seven service aces from senior Charlene Landry (Gorham, Maine).  Roy notched four kills and four digs in the second setback for the Buccaneers, while received three kills from Harrison, eight digs from Coughlin as well as nine set assists and seven digs from Sheehan.

 

Massachusetts Maritime heads to Salem, Mass. on Tuesday evening to take on Salem State in the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference opener for both teams at 7:00 p.m., while Curry travels to Newton, Mass. on Tuesday evening to square off with Mount Ida in a non-league outing at 6:00 p.m.  Becker heads to Dudley, Mass. on Thursday afternoon for a non-league clash with Nichols beginning at 4:00 p.m.
