Harrison Registers Five Kills, Five Digs As Volleyball Drops MASCAC Decision At Bridgewater State

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. --  Sophomore Sarah Gibbons (Quincy, Mass.) recorded 10 kills to lead Bridgewater State to a 3-0 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference volleyball victory over Massachusetts Maritime by game scores of 25-8, 25-17 and 25-21 in a league match played Wednesday evening at the Tinsley Center.

 

Junior Kayla Baril (Seekonk, Mass.) added seven kills in the triumph for the host Bears (3-11, 2-1 MASCAC), who received six kills from freshman Kiana Bueno (Methuen, Mass.) to go with four kills and five digs from freshman Devan McNeill (Lakeville, Mass.).  Junior Picabo Miskiv (Centerville, Mass.) chipped in with 25 set assists, six digs, three kills and a pair of service aces for Bridgewater State, which received a combined 17 digs from junior Cassidy Tyros (Chelmsford, Mass.) and freshman Alexis Duarte (Fairhaven, Mass.).

 

Sophomore Marie Harrison (Weymouth, Mass.) registered five kills and five digs in the setback for the visiting Buccaneers (2-13, 0-3 MASCAC), who received 15 digs from sophomore Tina Ruggeri (Bourne, Mass.) as well as three set assists and four digs from sophomore Michelle Sheehan (Attleboro, Mass.).  Freshman Casey Sullivan (Sagamore Beach, Mass.) added five digs and a block solo for Massachusetts Maritime, which received a combined five digs from senior Kaleigh Hoffman (Noblesville, Ind.) and freshman Maddie Coughlin (Monroe, Conn.).

 

Massachusetts Maritime hosts Pine Manor in a non-league outing on Tuesday evening at the Clean Harbors Athletic Center beginning at 7:00 p.m., while Bridgewater State heads to Providence, R.I. on Saturday afternoon for a non-league tri-match with Becker and host Rhode Island College that begins at Noon.
