Harrison Records 15 Kills, 10 Digs As Volleyball Drops 3-1 Decision At Becker

LEICESTER, Mass. --  Junior Kayla Dupree (North Bergen, N.J.) notched 15 kills to lead Becker to a 3-1 non-league college volleyball victory over Massachusetts Maritime by scores of 25-14, 23-25, 25-22 and 25-16 in a match played Tuesday evening at Leicester Gymnasium.

 

Sophomore Morgan Gould (North Attleboro, Mass.) added nine kills and six digs in the triumph for the host Hawks (4-6), who received eight kills from sophomore Gillian Criddle (Earleville, Md.) as well as 16 digs and six kills from sophomore Sofia Cullina (Deep River, Conn.).  Senior Charlene Landry (Gorham, Maine) collected 39 set assists and 16 digs on the night for Becker, which received 15 digs from sophomore Micaela Rice (Charlton, Mass.) in posting its second win in as many meetings between the two squads in 10 days.

 

Sophomore Marie Harrison (Weymouth, Mass.) recorded a double-double effort of 15 kills and 10 digs in the setback for the visiting Buccaneers (1-10), who received eight kills and three digs from junior Jennifer Roy (Attleboro, Mass.).  Freshman Casey Sullivan (Sagamore Beach, Mass.) notched a career-high 16 digs to go with three kills for Massachusetts Maritime, which received three kills, three digs and three service aces from freshman Maddie Coughlin (Monroe, Conn.).  Sophomore Michelle Sheehan (Attleboro, Mass.) posted 22 set assists and nine digs for the Buccaneers, who also received 27 digs from sophomore Tina Ruggeri (Bourne, Mass.) as well as seven digs from senior Kaleigh Hoffman (Noblesville, Ind.).

 

Massachusetts Maritime heads to Franklin, Mass. on Friday evening to take on Dean in a non-league outing that begins at 7:00 p.m., while Becker travels to North Dartmouth, Mass. on Thursday evening to square off with UMass Dartmouth in a non-league match beginning at 6:00 p.m.
