Langley Notches Four Kills And Seven Digs As Volleyball Drops 3-0 MASCAC Decision At MCLA

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. --  Freshman Rachel Mills (Highland Mills, N.Y.) registered five kills and seven digs to lead MCLA to a 3-0 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference volleyball victory over Massachusetts Maritime by game scores of 25-14, 25-12 and 25-18 in a league match played Monday afternoon at the Amsler Campus Center.

 

Senior Julia Christian (Cohoes, N.Y.) added five kills and four digs in the triumph for the host Trailblazers (9-12, 1-2 MASCAC), who also received four kills, four digs and three service aces from junior Amanda Fleming (Tewksbury, Mass.) as well as 19 set assists and eight digs from sophomore Courtney Parent (South Deerfield, Mass.).

 

Junior Deb Langley (Abington, Mass.) notched four kills, four set assists, seven digs and two service aces in the setback for the visiting Buccaneers (3-20, 0-4 MASCAC), who also received three kills and three digs from sophomore Emily Calnan (Hingham, Mass.).  Senior Michaela Garrity (Tiverton, R.I.) added seven digs for Massachusetts Maritime, which also received a combined 17 digs from senior Melanie Holder (Calidonia, Panama) and freshman Stephanie O’Connor (Westwood, Mass.).

 

Massachusetts Maritime hosts Westfield State and Pine Manor in a tri-match on Saturday afternoon at the Clean Harbors Athletic Center beginning at 3:00 p.m., while MCLA heads to Salem, Mass. on Saturday afternoon to take on Salem State and Endicott in tri-match play beginning at Noon.
