How It Happened

The teams played to a scoreless draw in the first half. Fisher took 11 shots in the half to Maritime's three but neither team could break through to break the tie.

In the second half, though chippy, the game remained scoreless until late on. In the 80 minute, the Buccaneers earned a free kick from 30 yards out and Lelievre did what she has done her whole career at the Academy and delivered a strike into the top of the net to give the Buccaneers a 1-0 advantage. Three minutes later, the Bucs gave away a penalty on a clear foul in the box. Wallace stepped up and put it past Dechamps into the bottom left corner of the net for her 15th goal of the season to tie the game at 1-1. The final 17-plus minutes of the match were physical and each team had their chances though they couldn't break the tie. The match ended in a 1-1 draw.
