Reddish Scores First in Bucs 2-1 Loss to RIC

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Women's soccer traveled to Rhode Island on Wednesday to play RIC in non-conference play. Though the Bucs scored first, the Anchormen came back with two goals to knock off the Bucs 2-1. 

 

The Basics

Inside The Numbers

Maritime

  • Senior captain Ally Reddish scored for the Bucs in the 24th minute.
  • Goalkeeper Reagan Kerecz started the game and made four assists while giving up one goal.
  • Brady Deschamps played the second half in goal making eight saves and allowing one goal.

Rhode Island College

  • Serena Forte and Tayshia Cary scored the goals for RIC.
  • Kim Boisvert had the lone assist in the game
  • Goalkeeper Chloe Angelone faced one shot allowing the Buccaneers goal.

 

How It Happened

Reddish netted the Bucs first goal of the season in the 24th minute to give the Bucs a 1-0 lead. Late in the first half, in the 41st minute, Cary scored her goal to tie the game at 1-1 heading to half time.

In the second half, the teams were knotted at 1-1 until the last seven minutes. In the 84th minute, Forte scored the game winner for RIC from Boisvert. The Anchormen won the match 2-1.

 

What's Next

The Buccaneers next match is at home on Saturday in conference against MCLA to close out the Maritime Homecoming Weekend with kickoff at 5pm.
