PAXTON, Mass -- Maritime women's soccer took on Anna Maria College, future conference opponent, in non-conference play on Monday afternoon on the road. The Buccaneers took their chances and came home with a point after a scoreless draw with the AMCATS.

Maritime

  • Brady Deschamps led the Buccaneers in shots with two on target in the match. 
  • Ayla Santoro got three shots off, none on goal.
  • Kylie MaherMatilda LauxEmily MallahyJenny Verrilli, and MASCAC Women's Soccer Rookie of the Week Shannon Brecher all had one shot on target.
  • Goalkeeper Reagan Kerecz was outstanding in goal for the Bucs and after making 11 saves in a 1-1 draw over the weekend against Fitchburg State, she made seven saves and kept the clean sheet against Anna Maria.
  • In total, the Bucs took 10 shots, seven on target, and earned three corners in the game.

Anna Maria

  • Mia Kuhl and Riley Michaud each had two shots on goal. 
  • Julia Ballinger, Samantha Rodriguez, and Olympia Myers all had one shot on goal.
  • Goalkeeper Kortney Clark made five saves and earned a clean sheet in the draw.
  • In total, the AMCATS took nine shots, seven on goal and had nine corners in the match.

How It Happened

The teams took a combined 19 shots, 14 of which were on target but neither team could find the back of the net to break the scoreless tie. Kerecz pitched a shutout in goal making seven saves and has made 18 saves allowing just one goal in her last 19 shots faced.

With both halves going scoreless, the teams each took a point from the match in the scoreless draw.

The Buccaneers are off until Saturday when they take the field at Clean Harbors Stadium in a conference match against Bridgewater State at 12pm.
