Women's Soccer Fall on the Road to Rams

BOSTON, Mass -- The Buccaneers traveled to Boston on Saturday to take on the Suffolk Rams in non-conference play. The Bucs lost the match, 3-0.

Inside The Numbers

Maritime

  • Freshman Ayla Santoro took the only shot of the game for the Bucs in the loss.
  • Starting goalkeeper Brady Deschamps made five saves and allowed two goals in 45 minutes of work.
  • Goalkeeper Reagan Kerecz played the second half making six saves and allowed one goal.

Suffolk

  • Avery Porter scored twice for the hosts in the win.
  • Makena Columbus scored the Rams third goal.
  • Kylie Flynn and Madelyn Murray each tallied an assist.
  • Goalkeeper Arden Ferrari-Henry picked up the win between the pipes allowing no goals.
  • In total, the Rams took 26 shots and earned six corners in the match.

How It Happened

The game remained scoreless for the first 23 minutes until Porter broke the scoreless tie in the 24th minute with her first goal, assisted by Kylie Flynn. Seven minutes later, in the 31st minute, Porter added her second to make it 2-0 Rams. Suffolk took the 2-0 advantage in to the halftime break.

In the second half, the Rams scored their third goal just over two minutes in to the half in the 48th minute off the foot of Columbus with the assists being credited to Murray. The Rams held on for the rest of the match to earn the win over the Bucs, 3-0.

 

What's Next

The Buccaneers will play their home opener on Thursday, September 14th at 7pm against the Rivier Raiders at Clean Harbors Stadium.
