The Female Athlete of the Year awards is presented to a senior Buccaneer who has achieved so much in their sport and off the field of play in their four years at the Academy.

Our 2021-2022 Female Athlete of the Year recipient, Alyssa DiScipio, was a four-year starter for the women's lacrosse team. She came on to the scene for the Bucs in her freshman season, under an alias, and scored 31 goas with 23 assists. This year, in her senior season she netted 68 goals with 20 assists. DiScipio was named First Team All-MASCAC in 2022 and was selected to the IWLCA Senior All-Star game in Sparks, Maryland, which she played in yesterday. Alyssa has left her mark on the Buccaneer women's lacrosse program setting countless single-game and single-season records while also climbing the ranks in nearly every category on the career records list. The two-time captain has given so much to the women's lacrosse program on an off the field, and that is why she is the 2022 Female Athlete of the Year.
