Nichols grabbed the momentum in the second quarter scoring three goals which was chopped up by a Maritime goal by DiScipio. Ahaesy, Houghton and Doran scored for the Bison. The game went to the half with the Bison doubling up the Bucs, 4-2.

In the second half, Nichols scored two goals to open the third quarter within the first two minutes to extend their lead to 6-2. Alberton and Durgin then scored in the final seven minutes of the quarter to run the score to 6-5 at the end of three.

Nichols grabbed some insurance within the first two minutes with a score from Luster. At 7-5 the Buccaneers needed to pick up the scoring to get back into the game. With ten minutes to play they started their comeback. DiScipio scored her third, unassisted, to pull within one. Then, with 3:45 left in regulation, the Buccaneers took advantage of a yellow card against Nichols and tied the game on a Llewellyn score. Neither team could break the tie in the final 3:45 and the game went to overtime, 7-7.
