In 2010, the Department of Athletics was proud to begin a new tradition and instituted an award that is bestowed annually to a member of the Senior Class who has provided valuable contributions and service to the Buccaneer Student-Athlete Advisory Committee during their time at the Academy.

Coreen Carley is the current SAAC President. She helped coordinate and execute our can drive with the Bourne Friends Food Pantry and our Toy Drive with Children's Cove Advocacy Center. She was invaluable in the Sports Information Office helping on game days and in the office putting together years and years of stats and scores. She has been a part of SAAC and the Athletics Department for her entire four years at Maritime. On the field, she is one of the cornerstones of the recent success for our women's lacrosse program and is one of the best low defenders in the MASCAC. A two-sport athlete, Carley was also a cornerstone of the women's varsity fours boat for the Buccaneers women's rowing team in the Fall.
