Rowing Finishes Strong in Textile River Regatta

LOWELL, Mass -- Rowing opened their season on Sunday morning at the Textile River Regatta. The men's team posted a top-five finish, finishing in fourth while the women finished in sixth in the race, third among varsity collegiate programs.

The men's team finished behind UMass Lowell and USMMA in fourth place with a final time of 17:23.236, 19 seconds better than the University of Maine boat. Manning the Maritime boat was Aidan Alusic-Bingham in bow, 2-seat, captain, Jack Gerrior, Dane Franke at 3, stroke Jack Duguay and coxswain Sean O'Connell.

The women's team sent two boats to the race with the varsity one boat finishing in sixth place and the second boat posting a 10th place finish. The one boat that finished in 19:39.522 was coxswained by Jung-Hyo Batino with senior captains Colleen Weir and Coreen Carley rowing strong with fellow senior Meghan Reilly and junior Victoria Carpenter

The Bucs are in Shelton, CT on Saturday, October 9th for the Head of the Housatonic Regatta.
