Women's Rowing Takes Home Bronze at the Snake Regatta

SHREWSBURY, Mass -- Ahead of the Head of the Charles Regatta next week in Boston the women's rowing team took part in the Snake Regatta on Lake Quinsigamond on Sunday. In a field of nine boats, the team placed third in the race.

The Maritime A boat, coxswained by freshman Maura Odell (Abington, MA), finished the course with a time of 20:04.77, less than a minute behind the University of Vermont Boat in second and just over a minute behind the Holy Cross boat that won the regatta. 

The Buc boat, which comprised of Odell, Senior captains Colleen Weir (North Andover, MA) and Coreen Carley (Brentwood, N.H.), senior Meghan Reilly (Pawling, N.Y.) and sophomore Mariana Gubert (Newton, MA), finished ahead of the University of New Hampshire by eight seconds while also finishing ahead of the likes of Clark University, Middlebury, Franklin Pierce, and Brandeis.

The team will compete in the prestigious Head of the Charles Regatta on Sunday, October 24th at 1:30 in race number 56 of the three-day event. For more information on the Head of the Charles visit their website at hocr.org.
