BUZZARDS BAY, Mass. --  Freshman Jennifer Cabral (Swansea, Mass.) notched seven kills and five service aces to lead Worcester State to a 3-0 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference volleyball victory over Massachusetts Maritime Wednesday evening by game scores of 25-10, 25-6 and 25-7 in a league match played at the Clean Harbors Athletic Center.

Senior Becky Lebel (Millbury, Mass.) and sophomore Alyssa Jasper (Rockland, Mass.) each added six kills in the triumph for the visiting Lancers (12-12, 3-3 MASCAC), who also received four kills each from junior Emily Cox (North Andover, Mass.) and sophomore Ali Remigio (Tewksbury, Mass.) as well as a combined 15 set assists from sophomore Amanda Lewis (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) and freshman Gina Battista (West Springfield, Mass.).

Senior Alex Burgess-Chrost (Leominster, Mass.) collected a pair of kills and four digs in her final collegiate match in the setback for the host Buccaneers (2-24, 0-6 MASCAC), who also received a kill and seven digs from junior Michaela Garrity (Tiverton, R.I.) as well as a combined three set assists and four digs from sophomores Deb Langley (Abington, Mass.) and Kelsey Black (Plympton, Mass.).

Tonight’s match closed out Massachusetts Maritime’s 2012 season, while Worcester State will close out its regular season slate on Saturday afternoon by heading to Providence, R.I. to take on both Plymouth State and host Rhode Island College in a non-league tri-match that begins at 1:00 p.m.
