BUZZARDS BAY, Mass. --  Junior Nicole Accera (East Haven, Conn.) registered 12 kills and 32 digs to lead Albertus Magnus to a sweep of a non-league college volleyball tri-match of Castleton (3-1) and host Massachusetts Maritime (3-0) Thursday evening at the Clean Harbors Athletic Center.

Freshman Kelsey Pendagast (Shelton, Conn.) added 10 kills for the Falcons (11-9), who topped Castleton’s Spartans (5-8) by game scores of 15-25, 25-18, 25-15 and 25-21 and posted a 25-19, 25-7, 25-12 triumph over the host Buccaneers (1-20).  Senior Krista LaBissoniere (Meriden, Conn.) added 25 set assists and six service aces for Albertus Magnus, which also received seven kills from senior Maritza Rosemond (New Haven, Conn.).

Junior Sarah Wheeler (Kinderhook, N.Y.) collected 17 kills and 13 digs on the night for Castleton, which opened play with a 3-1 victory over Massachusetts Maritime that came by game scores of 25-9, 25-10, 22-25 and 25-15.  Junior Grace Schreiber (Cheshire, Conn.) added 12 kills for the Spartans, who also received 22 set assists from freshman Shelby Smyth (Chelmford, Mass.) as well as 10 kills and seven service aces from senior Nicole Valastro (South Glens Falls, N.Y.).

Senior Alex Burgess-Chrost (Leominster, Mass.) paced the Buccaneers with nine kills and 15 digs on the evening, while sophomore Deb Langley (Abington, Mass.) chipped in with 12 set assists, seven kills and nine digs.  Junior Michaela Garrity (Tiverton, R.I.) added 36 digs on the night for Massachusetts Maritime, while sophomore Meghan Weir (North Andover, Mass.) added six kills and seven digs and freshmen Kelsey Black (Plympton, Mass.) and Marissa Boudreau (New Bedford, Mass.) each added 11 digs.

Massachusetts Maritime travels to Westfield, Mass. to take on Westfield State and Pine Manor in tri-match play on Saturday morning beginning at 11:00 a.m., while Albertus Magnus will be idle until next Thursday, October 18^th when the Falcons head to Chestnut Hill, Mass. to take on Pine Manor in a non-league outing that begins at 7:00 p.m.  Castleton heads to Johnson, Vt. on Saturday afternoon to take on Lyndon State and host Johnson State in a North Atlantic Conference tri-match that begins at 1:00 p.m.
