WESTON, Mass. --  Junior Michelle Hobbs (Northwood, N.H.) registered 15 kills and nine digs to lead Wentworth to a 3-0 victory over Massachusetts Maritime and a sweep of a non-league college volleyball tri-match on Saturday at the Regis Athletic Arena, as the Leopards also posted a 3-1 opening match triumph over the host Pride.  In the nightcap, junior Vanessa Noesi’s (Puerto Plata, Dom. Rep.) eight kill effort led Regis to a 3-0 victory over the visiting Buccaneers.

Senior Julie Rahilly (Nashua, N.H.) added 13 kills in the win for Wentworth (5-6) over Massachusetts Maritime, which came by game scores of 25-16, 25-14 and 25-17.  Junior Nicole Wetherbee (Pembroke, Mass.) added seven kills for the Leopards, who also received 24 set assists from junior Mary Horgan (Mahwah, N.J.).

Sophomores Olivia Foley (Andover, Mass.) and Jackie Silver (West Hills, Calif.) each registered six kills for host Regis (6-12) in its 25-10, 25-9, 25-8 victory over Massachusetts Maritime, as the Pride also received eight service aces from junior Sara Gold (North Hollywood, Calif.) and 18 set assists from sophomore Brooklyn Beliveau (Weare, N.H.).

Senior Alex Burgess-Chrost (Leominster, Mass.) paced the Buccaneers (1-11) with seven kills and nine digs on the day, including five kills and seven digs in the setback to Wentworth, while freshman Emily Calnan (Hingham, Mass.) also chipped in with seven kills and four service aces.  Junior Michaela Garrity (Tiverton, R.I.) notched 10 digs (six against Regis) for Massachusetts Maritime, which also received a combined nine digs from freshman Marissa Boudreau (New Bedford, Mass.) to go with a combined 11 set assists from sophomore Deb Langley (Abington, Mass.) and freshman Kelsey Black (Plympton, Mass.).

Massachusetts Maritime hosts Bridgewater State in a Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference match on Wednesday evening at the Clean Harbors Athletic Center beginning at 7:00 p.m., while Wentworth travels to Biddeford, Maine on Wednesday evening to take on the University of New England in a Commonwealth Coast Conference clash that also begins at 7:00 p.m.  Regis entertains Pine Manor in a non-league match on Thursday evening at the Regis Athletic Arena beginning at 7:00 p.m.
