BUZZARDS BAY, Mass. --  Junior Danielle Dean (Gilford, N.H.) registered seven kills to lead Bridgewater State to a 3-0 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference volleyball victory over Massachusetts Maritime by game scores of 25-7, 25-7 and 25-14 in a league match played Wednesday evening at the Clean Harbors Athletic Center.

Sophomore Rebecca Morse (Norton, Mass.) added six kills and three service aces in the triumph for the visiting Bears (6-5, 3-0 MASCAC), who also received five kills and three digs from freshman Victoria Shannon (Mansfield, Mass.).  Junior Melanie Appleman (Hyannis, Mass.) recorded 14 set assists for Bridgewater State, which also received five service aces from freshman Carolyn Morin (Marstons Mills, Mass.).

Senior Alex Burgess-Chrost (Leominster, Mass.) notched three kills and two digs in the setback for the host Buccaneers (1-12, 0-2 MASCAC), who also received two kills and a pair of digs from junior Ashley Button (Southfield, Mass.).  Sophomore Deb Langley (Abington, Mass.) chipped in with four set assists for Massachusetts Maritime, which also received three service aces and three digs from junior Michaela Garrity (Tiverton, R.I.).

Massachusetts Maritime heads to Babson Park, Mass. on Saturday afternoon to take on both UMass Dartmouth and host Babson in a non-league tri-match that begins at 1:00 p.m., while Bridgewater State travels to Worcester, Mass. on Saturday morning to take on WPI in a non-league outing that begins at 11:00 a.m.
