FRAMINGHAM, Mass. --  Junior Andressa Fernandes (Framingham, Mass.) registered nine kills and five digs to lead Framingham State to a 3-0 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference volleyball victory over Massachusetts Maritime Tuesday evening by game scores of 25-5, 25-7 and 25-10 in the league opener for both schools played at the Athletic and Recreation Center.

Freshman Danielle Girard (Tivoli, N.Y.) added eight kills, seven digs and six service aces for the host Rams (8-1, 1-0 MASCAC), who also received seven kills from sophomore Anneliese Harrison (Holliston, Mass.).  Sophomore Morgan Drew (North Easton, Mass.) notched 17 set assists for Framingham State, which also received 11 set assists from sophomore Kassandra Jermyn (Auburn, Mass.).

Freshman Emily Calnan (Hingham, Mass.) collected three kills in the setback for the visiting Buccaneers (0-4, 0-1 MASCAC), who also received two kills from senior Alex Burgess-Chrost (Leominster, Mass.).  Sophomore Deb Langley (Abington, Mass.) notched three set assists and three digs for Massachusetts Maritime, which also received four digs from junior Michaela Garrity (Tiverton, R.I.).

Massachusetts Maritime hosts Simmons in a non-league outing on Thursday evening at the Clean Harbors Athletic Center beginning at 7:00 p.m., while Framingham State hosts Salve Regina in a non-league match on Thursday evening at the Athletic and Recreation Center that also begins at 7:00 p.m.
