Langley Collects Pair Of Kills, Seven Digs As Volleyball Drops 3-0 MASCAC Decision At Salem State

SALEM, Mass. --  Freshman Morgan Rae Shambo (Rochester, N.Y.) registered four kills and 14 set assists to lead Salem State to a 3-0 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference volleyball victory over Massachusetts Maritime Tuesday evening by game scores of 25-15, 25-20 and 25-13 in a match played at Twohig Gymnasium.

Freshman Emily Peay (Lebanon, Conn.) also notched four kills in the triumph for the host Vikings (3-14, 1-3 MASCAC), who also received three kills and three digs from junior Jazmin Santos (Lawrence, Mass.) as well as three kills and seven service aces from senior Kenia McKeon (Peabody, Mass.).  Senior MacKenzie Carpenter (Peabody, Mass.) added five set assists as well for Salem State, which clinched the final berth in the upcoming conference championships.

Sophomore Deb Langley (Abington, Mass.) collected two kills and seven digs in the setback for the visiting Buccaneers (2-22, 0-5 MASCAC), who also received four set assists and four digs from senior Alex Burgess-Chrost (Leominster, Mass.).  Sophomore Meghan Weir (North Andover, Mass.) chipped in with a kill and three digs for Massachusetts Maritime, which also received a pair of service aces from freshman Kelsey Black (Plympton, Mass.).

Massachusetts Maritime heads to Cambridge, Mass. on Thursday evening to take on Lesley in a non-league outing that begins at 8:00 p.m., while Salem State travels to North Adams, Mass. on Thursday evening to take on MCLA in a Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference match that begins at 7:00 p.m.
