How It Happened

While the Bucs scored first in the game, Plymouth controlled the first quarter and would have a lead at the half. Jones scored his first, from Maida, 48 seconds into the game. Plymouth answered a minute later to tie the game at 1-1. Much of the rest of the first was quiet with just one other goal at the 2:57 mark on a man-up opportunity for the Panthers. Plymouth led 2-1 after 15 minutes.

In the second, the teams went off, scoring a total of 10 goals, five from each team. Maritime scored the first two of the second, both from Lamattina to give the Bucs a 3-2 lead three minutes into the quarter. Plymouth proceeded to go on a five-goal unanswered run over the next seven minutes. Plymouth retook the lead and extended it to four goals, 7-3 with 4:18 on the clock. On the ensuing faceoff, Rosher won the draw and went directly for goal scoring his first of the season. In the final two minutes, the Bucs cut the Plymouth lead to one with goals from Cameron and Lamattina. The Panthers led the game, 7-6, at the break.

The Buccaneers came out of halftime on a mission. They scored seven unanswered goals in the quarter, extending their scoring streak to 10 goals. Maritime led 13-7 with 39 second left in the third. Plymouth grabbed one back with seven seconds on the clock to make it 13-8. Then, again off the ensuing faceoff, Rosher found Maida for a goal with one second left on the third quarter clock. The Bucs took a 14-8 lead into the fourth.

With the Buccaneers playing defense and holding their lead, and the Plymouth defense tightening up, the Panthers scored the only two goals of the fourth. The first didn't come until there were four minutes left in regulation. The second came with 21 second left. The Bucs went on to win in comeback fashion, 14-10, to capture their second LEC win of the season.
