Klangos Collects Seven Kills, Five Digs As Volleyball Drops 3-0 MASCAC Decision To Bridgewater State

BUZZARDS BAY, Mass. --  Sophomore Erin Clifford (Hanson, Mass.) notched 14 kills to lead Bridgewater State to a 3-0 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference volleyball victory over Massachusetts Maritime by game scores of 25-12, 25-18 and 25-18 in a match played Wednesday evening at the Clean Harbors Athletic Center.

 

Senior Hannah Maymon (Narragansett, R.I.) added eight kills, four digs and three service aces for the visiting Bears (8-14, 3-2 MASCAC), who also received seven kills and three digs from senior Clara Goncalves (Dennis, Mass.).  Senior Charleyne Panner (Gilford, N.H.) chipped in with 34 set assists and seven digs for Bridgewater State, which received a combined 25 digs from senior Samantha Fasoli (Sagamore Beach, Mass.) and sophomore Alyssa Kelley (Mansfield, Mass.).

 

Senior Charleen Klangos (Lowell, Mass.) collected seven kills and five digs in the setback for the host Buccaneers (7-20, 0-5 MASCAC), who also received three kills each from sophomore Jennifer Roy (Attleboro, Mass.) and freshman Marie Harrison (Weymouth, Mass.).  Freshman Michelle Sheehan (Attleboro, Mass.) and senior Emma Ethier (Norton, Mass.) combined for 13 set assists for Massachusetts Maritime, while freshman Christina Ruggeri (Bourne, Mass.) added 13 digs for the hosts.

 

Massachusetts Maritime will be idle until Thursday, October 27th when the Buccaneers host Wentworth in a non-league outing at the Clean Harbors Athletic Center that begins at 7:00 p.m., while Bridgewater State takes on SUNY-Canton and host Amherst in opening round play of the Hall of Fame Invitational on Friday evening in Amherst, Mass. beginning at 5:30 p.m.
