Brain Notches Four Kills As Volleyball Drops Season Opening Decision To Anna Maria

BUZZARDS BAY, Mass. --  Senior Jacqueline Clinton (Walpole, Mass.) registered nine kills and six digs to lead Anna Maria to a 3-0 non-league college volleyball victory over Massachusetts Maritime Thursday evening by game scores of 25-6, 25-17 and 25-8 in a match played at the Clean Harbors Athletic Center.

 

Freshman Rebecca Foti (Bedford, N.H.) added nine service aces, seven kills and six digs in the triumph for the visiting Amcats (3-1), who also received four kills from junior Jessica Goulet (Lawrence, Mass.), 16 digs from junior Brittany Jackson (Larchmont, N.Y.) and 17 set assists from junior Samantha Parker (Athol, Mass.) for the contest.

 

Sophomore Meaghan Brain (Hanson, Mass.) notched four kills in the season-opening setback for the host Buccaneers (0-1), who also received four set assists and three digs from senior Deb Langley (Abington, Mass.).  Sophomore Stephanie O’Connor (Westwood, Mass.) chipped in with 10 digs for Massachusetts Maritime, which also received a kill and five digs from junior Charleen Klangos (Lowell, Mass.).

 

Massachusetts Maritime hosts Southern Maine and Curry in a non-league tri-match on Saturday afternoon at the Clean Harbors Athletic Center that begins at 1:00 p.m., while Anna Maria entertains Bay Path in a non-league outing on Saturday afternoon beginning at 2:00 p.m.
