After posting its highest single-season win total in seven years in 2013, the Massachusetts Maritime volleyball team is looking for that success to continue under the watchful eye of Head Coach Chris Ratches in 2014, as the Buccaneers will embark on a 24-match schedule this fall.

Ratches, who was inducted into the Massachusetts Maritime Athletic Hall of Fame last month, is set to begin her 11^th season at the helm on Thursday, September 4^th when the Buccaneers entertain Anna Maria in a non-league outing at the Clean Harbors Athletic Center that begins at 7:00 p.m. EDT.  Additionally, Massachusetts Maritime will host tri-matches with Southern Maine, Curry, MCLA and Becker while also welcoming Pine Manor (for a doubleheader), Worcester State, Bridgewater State and Wentworth to the Cape.

The Buccaneers will hit the road for clashes at Suffolk, Becker, Framingham State, Pine Manor and Salem State while also playing tri-matches at Pine Manor (with Curry), Gordon (with Castleton) and Westfield State (with Pine Manor).  Ratches will also take her squad to Throggs Neck, N.Y. during the weekend of September 20-21 for the Fifth Annual Maritime Classic against rivals SUNY-Maritime, Merchant Marine and Maine Maritime looking to build on a runner-up finish in last year’s event.
