FRAMINGHAM, Mass. --  Junior Brittany McLean (Walpole, Mass.) netted seven goals and four assists for 11 points to lead Framingham State to a 24-6 New England Women’s Lacrosse Alliance victory over Massachusetts Maritime Saturday afternoon at Maple Street Field.

The host Rams (5-6, 2-2 NEWLA) scored the first six goals of the match en route to a 14-3 advantage at the break, as senior Kerry Kiley (Mansfield, Mass.) chipped in with four goals for Framingham State, which also received a hat trick and an assist from sophomore Lauren Kent (Framingham, Mass.).  Junior Heather Masse (Billerica, Mass.) added a pair of goals and two assists for the winners, who also received two markers and a helper each from junior Chelsea Temple (Rutland, Vt.) and sophomore Kerri Robinson (Mashpee, Mass.).  Freshman Ashley Holmes (East Sandwich, Mass.) netted two goals and an assist as well for the Rams, who also received markers off the sticks of junior Courtney Robinson (Beverly, Mass.), sophomore Marissa Canfield (Billerica, Mass.) and freshman Nicole L’Heureux (Dracut, Mass.) as well as a helper from freshman Julie Mullen (Billerica, Mass.).

Junior Kim Courcy (Warwick, R.I.) netted a pair of goals in the setback for the visiting Buccaneers (2-9, 1-4 NEWLA), who also received single tallies off the sticks of seniors Kerri Conway (West Springfield, Mass.) and Shauna Callinan (West Falmouth, Mass.).  Junior Briana Bergstrom (Quincy, Mass.) and sophomore Hillary Doucette (Manchester, Mass.) also collected markers for Massachusetts Maritime, which also received an assist from freshman Deb Langley (Abington, Mass.).

Sophomore Rebecca Rixon (Stow, Mass.) picked up the win in goal with two saves for Framingham State, while freshman Tenley Gillett (Manchester, N.H.) made 16 stops in net for Massachusetts Maritime as the Rams outshot the Buccaneers by a 43-10 margin for the contest.

Massachusetts Maritime hosts Bridgewater State in a New England Women’s Lacrosse Alliance outing on Tuesday evening at Clean Harbors Stadium beginning at 7:00 p.m., while Framingham State entertains Elms in a NEWLA match on Tuesday afternoon at Maple Street Field beginning at 4:30 p.m.
