Women's Lacrosse Set To Make Varsity Debut This Spring With Inaugural 15 Match Schedule
Women’s Lacrosse is the newest member of the Buccaneer athletic family, as Massachusetts Maritime is set to make its varsity debut this spring with a 15-match schedule as a member of the New England Women’s Lacrosse Alliance under the guidance of Head Coach Julie Rigo.
The Buccaneers will play their first varsity match on the evening of Monday, March 12th when Massachusetts Maritime hosts Simmons in a non-league outing at Clean Harbors Stadium beginning at 7:00 p.m. EST. Rigo, a Sandwich native who shined at the collegiate level at Division II powerhouse Stonehill, will lead see her squad also host UMass Dartmouth, Daniel Webster and Husson in a non-league play while making non-conference visits to Nichols, Wheelock and Regis.
The Buccaneers begin NEWLA action on Saturday, March 31st by heading to Elms, as Massachusetts Maritime will play host to Becker, Westfield State, Bridgewater State and Fitchburg State in league play this spring.
