Dinghy Sailing Places 15th At Vermont Lake Champlain Open

BURLINGTON, Vt. --  The Massachusetts Maritime dinghy sailing team placed 15th overall at the Lake Champlain Open hosted by the University of Vermont over the weekend in windy and changing conditions.

Freshmen George Luber (North Redington Beach, Fla.) and Evan Sampou (West Newbury, Mass.) comprised the Buccaneer “A” boat in the competition, while freshman Johnny Bishara (Saunderstown, R.I.) and sophomore Ryan Davis (North Falmouth, Mass.) anchored the “B” entry for Massachusetts Maritime, which topped Providence in the final standings and fell just two points behind the University of New Hampshire.

The Buccaneers will host the Commonwealth Invitational this weekend on Great Herring Pond in Bourne while also fielding squads at the New Hampshire Chris Loder Trophy and Rhode Island Salt Pond Invitational.
