Sailing Looks To Add To Tradition Of Success This Fall With 29-Event Schedule Under Fontaine's Watch

Sailing has traditionally been one of the most successful athletic programs at Massachusetts Maritime, and the Buccaneers are looking to keep that tradition going once again this fall with 29 events scheduled in both dinghy and off-shore competition under the guidance of longtime Director of Sailing Chuck Fontaine.

Massachusetts Maritime begins its Fall 2013 slate over the weekend of September 14-15 with competition at MIT, Maine Maritime and Roger Williams.  The Buccaneers will once again host the Commonwealth Invitational on September 28-29 and the Great Herring Pond Open on October 19-20, and Fontaine’s squads are set to once again participate in the prestigious Shields Trophy, MacMillan Cup and John F. Kennedy Cup at the United States Naval Academy as well as the Storm Trysail Regatta off the coast of Long Island Sound.

Additionally, Massachusetts Maritime will compete in five specific women’s sailing events, including the Dartmouth Mrs. Hurst Bowl and the Salve Regina Women’s Olympians Trophy.
