BRISTOL, R.I. -- The Massachusetts Maritime dinghy sailing team posted a 14th place overall team finish in competition over the weekend at the Roger Williams Southern Series Four Invitational in blustery conditions, as the Buccaneers topped Division I Connecticut and New Hampshire in the final standings.
Sophomores Timothy Forgione (Kendall Park, N.J.) and Alexander Hunt (Baltimore, Md.) comprised Massachusetts Maritime’s “A” boat in the competition, while the freshman tandem of George Luber (North Redington Beach, Fla.) and Pieter Van Der Zee (Atlantic Beach, Fla.) were in the Buccaneer “B” entry. Each squad sailed in 10 races in each division.
Massachusetts Maritime will host the Great Herring Pond Open next weekend and will also compete at the Providence Southern Series Six Invitational beginning at 9:30 a.m.
