FINAL:              BRIDGEWATER STATE 1, MASSACHUSETTS MARITIME 0

BUZZARDS BAY, Mass. --  Junior Conor Murtagh’s (Walpole, Mass.) goal in the 33rd minute of action lifted Bridgewater State to a 1-0 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference men’s soccer victory over Massachusetts Maritime Friday evening at Clean Harbors Stadium.

Murtagh converted a feed from fellow junior Kolin Campbell (Norton, Mass.) and broke in from the left side of the net for his team-leading fifth tally of the season for the visiting Bears (7-7, 4-1 MASCAC), and sophomore Colin Jepson (Sandwich, Mass.) made that stand up in goal for Bridgewater State by making one save to record his seventh victory and fifth shutout of the year.

Sophomore Joe Cohen (Plymouth, Mass.) made three stops in goal in the setback for the host Buccaneers (5-7-1, 2-2-1 MASCAC), as the Bears outshot Massachusetts Maritime by a 10-6 margin overall (4-1 on goal) while the Buccaneers took four of the six corner kicks for the contest.

Massachusetts Maritime will be idle until next Saturday, October 25th when the Buccaneers head to Framingham, Mass. to take on Framingham State in a Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference outing that begins at Noon, while Bridgewater State travels to North Dartmouth, Mass. on Tuesday evening to take on UMass Dartmouth in a non-league match beginning at 7:00 p.m.
