McLean Earns Spot On NEWMAC Men's Lacrosse All-Conference Team For Second Time In Career

Massachusetts Maritime senior attacker Reed McLean was named to the New England Women’s & Men’s Athletic Conference Men’s Lacrosse all-conference squad for the second time in his career earlier today, as the league’s top goal scorer collected second team accolades in a vote of the conference’s coaches.

A native of Wilbraham, Mass. and a graduate of Minnechaug Regional High School, McLean netted 49 goals and 11 assists for 60 points in 16 contests this season, including a career-high seven tallies against MIT on April 23rd.  McLean notched 11 hat tricks and ranked 30th in goals per game (3.06) in NCAA Division III play as of last week, and Reed became the 13th player in Buccaneer history to reach the 100-career point plateau with five goals and an assist against Wheaton on April 30th.

McLean also earned all-NEWMAC honors as a sophomore in 2014, when he netted 19 goals and seven assists for 26 points at the midfield position.  In just 42 career appearances, he scored 85 goals and added 20 assists for 105 points while collecting 12 man-up markers and 90 ground balls.

Massachusetts Maritime posted five overall victories this spring under sixth-year Head Coach Rory Deegan, as the Buccaneers retained the Admiral’s Cup with their fifth straight series win over rival Maine Maritime.
