DURHAM, N.H./HANOVER, N.H. --  The Massachusetts Maritime dinghy sailing team closed out its spring season with a runner-up and a fifth place finish in respective competitions at the New Hampshire Mendum’s Pond Invitational and the inaugural Dartmouth Brian Doyle Open over the weekend.

Junior Andrew Smith and sophomore Daniel Barry (Dartmouth, Mass.) served as skippers at UNH, while freshmen Leah Saunders (Rochester, Mass.) and Ryan Davis (North Falmouth, Mass.) comprised the crews.  Seven total races were sailed in the event that saw light and shifty winds, as the Buccaneers finished second overall in the competition.

At Dartmouth, junior Kaitlyn Nanartowich (Newport, R.I.) and sophomore Priscilla Stoll (Pocasset, Mass.) represented the Massachusetts Maritime in the “A” Division, while the freshmen tandem of Robert Queisser (Carmel, Ind.) and Alex Hunt (Baltimore, Md.) competed in the “B” Division.  Light winds in the Granite State held the competition to just six races in each division, as the Buccaneers finished fifth out of 11 schools entered in the event.
