Dinghy Sailing Team Posts Solid Performances At Great Herring Pond Open, MIT Invitational

BOURNE, Mass./CAMBRIDGE, Mass. --  The Massachusetts Maritime dinghy sailing team competed in a pair of events over the weekend, as the Buccaneers hosted the Great Herring Pond Open while also fielding a squad at the MIT Invitational.

Senior Michael Reney (Duxbury, Mass.) skippered the Buccaneer “A” boat during competition at the Great Herring Pond Open, as he was joined by sophomore Andrew Morgan (Jupiter, Fla.) and freshmen Ryan Davis (North Falmouth, Mass.) and Francis Dougherty (Cataumet, Mass.) in posting a 10th place finish.  Sophomore Daniel Barry (Dartmouth, Mass.) skippered Massachusetts Maritime’s “B” entry in the event with a crew of sophomore Camille Aiello (Hamden, Conn.) and freshmen Robert Queisser (Carmel, Ind.) and Alex Hunt (Baltimore, Md.) that finished 14th in the competition.

Sophomore Nicholas Pehr (Seabrook, Tex.) skippered the Buccaneer entry at MIT, with sophomore Matthew Ferlotti (Fairfax, Va.) and freshmen John Cavoores (Hull, Mass.) and Glen Kochanowski (Ashland, Mass.) serving as crew.  Massachusetts Maritime posted a 16th place finish in the event.

The Buccaneers will compete next weekend at the Navy MacMillan Cup, the Boston University Invitational, the Roger Williams Southern Series Six, the Harvard Oberg Trophy and the Boston College Central Series Six.
