Sailing Records Three Top Seven Finishes In Busy Weekend Of Competition At New England Frosh, Wellesley & UConn O'Toole Trophy Regattas

The Massachusetts Maritime sailing team enjoyed both a busy and successful weekend of competition in three different events, as the Buccaneers posted three top seven finishes at the New England Frosh Championships, the Wellesley Invitational and the UConn O’Toole Trophy.
Sophomore Andrew Smith (Marstons Mills, Mass.), along with freshmen Andrew Morgan (Jupiter, Fla.), Charles Cahill (Duxbury, Mass.) and Matthew Ferlotti (Fairfax, Va.), posted a fourth place finish out of 12 teams competing at the Wellesley Invitational, as Massachusetts Maritime finished behind only Tufts and New Hampshire on the day.
The freshman duo of Sean McLaughlin (Fairhaven, Mass.) and Camille Aiello (Hamden, Conn.) posted a fifth place overall finish at the New England Frosh Championships, while the tandem of sophomore Kaitlyn Nanartowich (Newport, R.I.) and freshmen Daniel Barry (Dartmouth, Mass.), Peter Markarian (Hyannis, Mass.) and Nicholas Pehr (Seabrook, Tex.) combined for a seventh place finish among 15 competitors at the UConn O’Toole Trophy.
The Buccaneers will be in action next weekend at both the Salve Regina Southern Series Seven Regatta as well as the Dartmouth Lake Mascoma Spring Invitational.
